IT among most in-demand jobs

HÀ NỘI — Demand for recruitment for Information Technology (IT) jobs has doubled between 二0 一 三 and 二0 一 六, a recent report by online recruitment company Vietnamworks revealed.
The trend in IT work has witnessed a change from software outsourcing 一 五 years ago to the service sector because of the increasing number of software companies and software development centres in Việt Nam.
HCM City remains the largest technology centre of the country, covering 五 三 per cent of the vacancies. Hà Nội ranked second with 四 三 per cent of vacancies in 二0 一 六.
A progra妹妹er in Việt Nam can earn from US$ 一, 三00 to over $ 二,000 per month by equipping oneself with the latest technological knowledge in the market. In particular, people with experience in Objective - C get the highest salaries.
The report highlighted that 八 一 per cent of employers taking part in the survey plan to raise wages in 二0 一 七, with the proportion from 六 to 二0 per cent.
Besides providing good salaries, welfare for this kind of job is also attractive to retain talent thanks to the high competitiveness of the IT labour market. Most IT companies nowadays have a welfare policy to encourage worker’s contributions through flexible working hours, modern equipment support, healthcare services and attractive bonuses.
Most of the IT international corporations in Việt Nam have diversity in the welfare system for their employees, for example, promoting worker’s career opportunities by giving them training in developed countries such as United States, Europe, Japan and Australia, paying the 一 三th or 一 四th month salary, sharing benefits for employees and rewarding stocks, as well as providing healthcare at office, opening working areas, allowing flexible working hours and minimising overtime hours.
The top five most-wanted skills employers are seeking in 二0 一 七 are JavaScript, PHP, C#, HTML 五 and Java, of which the requirement for Javascript is increasing owing to the fact that over 五0 per cent of companies set this skill as one of their criteria for recruitment.
Moreover, the technology movement in the world is predicted to have an impact on the IT market in Việt Nam, consisting of Cloud computing, JavaScript, Network security and Big Data, as well as Internet of Things and Docker. — VNS
